Co Down actor Jamie Dornan has received a BAFTA TV nomination for best lead actor for his role in BBC drama The Fall.

Dornan was nominated for his role as serial killer Paul Spector in the Belfast-based crime series, which stars Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson.

The show was also nominated in the Mini-Series category.

The British Academy Television Awards take place on Sunday 18 May.

Dornan’s nomination comes after he picked up two gongs at the Irish Film & Television Awards in Dublin on Saturday.

The star of the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film was named Best Leading Actor in a Television as well as Rising Star.

The Fall also collected the awards for Best Drama and best Original Score.
