Eric Johnson is in talks to play Jack Hyde, Christian Grey’s rival in Universal’s “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to the global hit “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
In the book, Hyde plays Steele’s new boss, an assistant news editor who falls for her and begins pursuing her, much to Grey’s dislike. Hyde will appear in both “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”
Universal is planning to shoot “Fifty Shades Darker” and the final pic, “Fifty Shades Freed,” back-to-back, with “Darker” set to bow Feb. 10, 2017.
Johnson has appeared in the last two seasons of Cinemax’s “The Knick,” in which he played Dr. Everett Gallinger. This would mark his biggest film role to date.
